Istanbul is a guesthouse where people from different cultures are hosted together with freedom. A new color was added to the historical and cultural texture of this beautiful guesthouse on Sunday, December 5, 2004: "Bedros Şirinoğlu Museum."
Bedros Şirinoğlu Museum is the last link to complete the Surp Pırgiç Armenian Hospital Foundation, which was established in 1832 with the entrepreneurial spirit of Kazaz Artin Amira Bezciyan. In this great complex, belief, culture and social developments are intertwined. The museum of this complex that attracts people from all aspects, was created with the material and moral contributions of Mr. Bedros Şirinoğlu, and will be opened to future generations as a living symbol of Armenian history and as the first Armenian museum opened in Turkey.
When you visit the museum, you will encounter works that reflect the tastes and likes of the Armenian people. You will see handcrafted daily items, religious materials symbolizing their beliefs, the opening edicts of the Surp Pırgiç Hospital issued by the sultans and high-ranking clergy, yearbooks, charter books, medical supplies, documents, tiles, dazzling paintings, etc. many works.
When you examine these works, you can follow the development course of the Armenian society from the Ottoman period to the present, enter their daily lives, understand what status they had in different periods and what kind of culture they were kneaded with.
Bedros Şirinoğlu Museum is a place where we want to make you experience the Armenian culture and social life visually.
