FOR YOUR HEALTH, TOUCH WATER, SOAP

There are many invisible bacteria on our hands. Hand washing is the easiest method of protection from disease-causing bacteria, especially influenza and Covid-19 infection. We collect germs with our hands as we touch people and inanimate surfaces throughout the day. Unless we wash our hands with soap, we can infect ourselves by touching our eyes, nose or mouth, as well as by touching other people. For this reason, hand washing, which is the easiest and cheapest as well as the most effective method, should be applied meticulously in order to reduce the transmission of infection in environments such as homes and workplaces, as well as in hospitals and care centers.

When should we wash our hands?

Hands should absolutely be washed with soap and water before and after preparing food, before eating, after using the toilet, after changing a diaper or cleaning the diaper, after coughing, sneezing or cleaning the nose, before and after caring for a sick person, before and after wound care, when wearing and removing contact lenses, after touching an animal, its food or feces.

The backs of the hands, palms, between the fingers, thumb, under the nails and wrists should be rubbed. After rubbing for at least 20 seconds, the hands should be rinsed under running water, and then dried with a clean towel.
